So Fresh and So Clean – Melaleuca, Balance, Purify, Elevation, Vetiver, Lemon

If you have to forgo a real shower for your festival fun, all you need to stay clean and smelling good is some baby wipes and your favorite essential oil. Some oils are better that others at cleansing the skin and reducing body odor, but it really depends on your personal preference. You can take a drop or two of Elevation or Purify and apply to your underarms instead of deodorant. Make a smell good spirits and spray yourself down!

Below are a few recipes for keeping it clean:

All In One Face/Body cleanser and Toothpaste – Wash your face, wash your body, and brush your teeth with one substance.

3 drops Melalueca

3 drops Lemon

1/2 cup of baking soda

1/3 cup of Dr. Bronner’s unscented liquid soap

Mix together and store in a wide mouth mason jar.

Hair and Body Oil – Moisturize your body, face, and hair with one concoction.

5 drops of geranium

fill the bottle the rest of the way with jojoba and vitamin e oil

Helichrysum and coconut oil

I fill up an old do TERRA bottle with coconut oil and 3 drops of helichrysum then top it off with a spray top. This makes a great sunblock!

Reusable Baby Wipes – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

I know we all love baby wipes in our festival survival kits, but have you ever thought of making your own and reducing the amount of waste created? You can make your own supply of cleansing cloths and enjoy chemical free cleansing with essential oil power.

Find an old flannel sheet and cut into 7×7 squares

Make a “baby wipe solution”

1 Tablespoon Olive oil (get fancy and infuse your olive oil with calendula flowers)

1 Tablespoon of unscented Dr. Bronner’s liquid soap

3-5 drops Melaleuca essential oil

3-5 drops Lavender essential oil

1 1/2 -2 cups water (again, get fancy and use “Rose water” for an amazing aroma!)

Store “baby wipe solution” in a glass spray bottle and apply to cloth per use or pre-soak the wipes and store in a mason jar.

Take a 4 ounce glass spray bottle (always use glass or stainless steel with true essential oils as the will eat plastic)

add a pinch of salt and 20 drops of your favorite essential oil or combination of oils. Once this is mixed, add water to the rest of the bottle

Shake before every use

There are so many ways to use essential oils to enhance your festival experience. Just experiment!

All recommendations are for do TERRA essential oils only. Essential oils sold in stores can sometimes be misrepresented as pure plant medicine. In fact, many essential oils in the market place are simply synthetic aromas with no therapeutic value whatsoever. Know your source! Make sure your oils are true and pure plant medicine!
